Ilya Sutskever becomes CEO of Safe Superintelligence after Meta poached Daniel Gross

币界网报道：Ilya Sutskever, former OpenAI chief scientist, has launched Safe Superintelligence Inc. (SSI), a new AI startup focused on developing safe artificial general intelligence (AGI). The company, co-founded with former OpenAI researcher Daniel Levy and investor Daniel Gross, aims to prioritize AI safety over commercial pressures. SSI will operate as a single-mission entity with offices in Palo Alto and Tel Aviv, avoiding distractions from product cycles or short-term business goals. Sutskever left OpenAI in May after playing a key role in CEO Sam Altman's brief ouster last November. His departure follows Meta's hiring of another OpenAI veteran, AI researcher Jason Gross, earlier this year.
