The investment values the Telegram Open Network ecosystem at $1 billion. TON plans to use the funds to expand its self-custodial wallet services and onboard more users to Web3 through Telegram's 800 million-strong user base. The wallet currently supports USDT and Toncoin transactions, with plans to add Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. This funding follows Telegram's recent pivot to Web3 integration, including launching a crypto wallet bot and revenue-sharing for channel owners via Toncoin.
