币界网报道:The SEA-ME-WE 6 submarine cable system has successfully landed in Egypt, marking a significant milestone in enhancing global digital connectivity. This 19,200 km cable, connecting Southeast Asia to Europe via the Middle East, will provide up to 100 Tbps capacity when fully operational in 2025. Telecom Egypt CEO Mohamed Nasr emphasized the project's role in meeting growing data demands and strengthening Egypt's position as a regional digital hub. The consortium-backed initiative involves 19 global telecom operators and aims to reduce latency while improving reliability for internet users across three continents. The cable's Egypt landing follows recent connections in Singapore and Pakistan, with additional landings planned in multiple countries along its route.
