币界网报道:BNB Chain is preparing for the Maxwell hard fork upgrade on June 30, aimed at significantly enhancing the BNB Smart Chain (BSC) mainnet performance by reducing block times from 1.5 seconds to 0.75 seconds, effectively doubling throughput. The upgrade, building on previous improvements like the Lorentz fork, introduces three protocol proposals (BEP-524, BEP-563, BEP-564) to optimize validator coordination and consensus mechanics. Validators will now propose 16 blocks per turn, and epoch length extends from 500 to 1,000 blocks for improved stability. The per-block gas limit will be halved to 35 million to prevent congestion. The upgrade also enhances block propagation speed (within 400ms) and node synchronization. Named after physicist James Clerk Maxwell, the hard fork targets faster, more stable performance to strengthen BNB Chain's position in DeFi, GameFi, and enterprise blockchain sectors. Meanwhile, BNB traded between $646.29 and $650.25, showing resilience with key support at $647.11 and resistance at $651.30.
