币界网报道:A peer-reviewed study published in the journal *Future Internet* has highlighted IOTA’s Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) as a frontrunner in digital identity innovation, particularly for decentralized identity solutions. The research, conducted by scientists from the University of Lisbon and the University of Rome, evaluated various DLT platforms—including IOTA, Ethereum, Hyperledger Fabric, and Algorand—for their suitability in implementing Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) systems. The study praised IOTA for its unique architecture, which eliminates transaction fees and scales efficiently, making it ideal for identity management applications. Unlike Ethereum, which faces high gas fees and scalability issues, IOTA’s feeless model and Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG) structure enable seamless, cost-effective identity verification. The researchers also noted IOTA’s compliance with W3C standards, robust security, and energy efficiency as key advantages. This recognition comes as IOTA advances its real-world identity projects, including collaborations with the EU on blockchain-based identity solutions. The findings reinforce IOTA’s growing reputation as a leader in decentralized identity systems, positioning it as a viable alternative to traditional, centralized identity frameworks.
