币界网报道:OpenRouter, founded by former OpenSea co-founder Alex Atallah, has secured $40 million in seed and Series A funding led by Andreessen Horowitz and Menlo Ventures, with participation from Sequoia and industry angels, valuing the company at $500 million. The AI infrastructure startup aggregates access to hundreds of large language models (LLMs) from providers like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Meta, optimizing model selection based on cost, speed, and privacy. Andreessen Horowitz's Anjney Midha praised OpenRouter for unifying fragmented AI stacks with a single API. Atallah, who left OpenSea in 2022, highlighted the platform's role in simplifying LLM integration for enterprises, allowing them to focus on domain-specific challenges. Since its 2023 launch, OpenRouter has scaled to $100 million in annualized inference spend, serving over a million developers and partnering with Microsoft VSCode, Zapier, and Cloudflare. OpenAI's Tabarak Khan commended OpenRouter's collaboration in providing early access to models like GPT-4.1.
