币界网报道:Bhutan's sovereign investment arm, Druk Holding & Investments (DHI), has reportedly amassed a Bitcoin reserve worth approximately $1.3 billion, marking a 900% surge from initial estimates. The Himalayan kingdom, known for its cautious approach to digital assets, began accumulating Bitcoin through undisclosed mining operations and strategic purchases over several years. DHI CEO Ujjwal Deep Dahal confirmed the holdings but declined to specify acquisition costs or mining infrastructure details. The reserve positions Bhutan among the top sovereign Bitcoin holders globally, alongside El Salvador and MicroStrategy. Analysts suggest the move aligns with Bhutan's long-term economic diversification strategy, though the government has not formally recognized Bitcoin as legal tender. The holdings remain under DHI's management, separate from the central bank's reserves.
