币界网报道:Resupply, a stablecoin protocol on Ethereum, suffered a $9.5 million exploit due to a smart contract vulnerability, according to blockchain security firm PeckShield. The attack occurred on February 5 when hackers manipulated the protocol's price oracle to artificially inflate collateral values, allowing them to drain funds. Resupply acknowledged the breach and paused all operations while investigating. The protocol had recently launched its RUSD stablecoin with a unique "elastic supply" mechanism designed to maintain peg stability. This marks the latest in a series of DeFi hacks in 2024, following similar oracle manipulation attacks on other platforms. Security analysts warn that protocols using custom oracles remain particularly vulnerable to such exploits. The Resupply team stated they are working with security experts to recover funds and strengthen protocol safeguards before resuming operations.
