币界网报道:Bitcoin mining firm Riot Platforms has announced a strategic partnership with MicroBT to purchase 33,280 next-generation Bitcoin miners, marking one of the largest mining hardware orders in 2024. The $290.5 million deal includes MicroBT’s latest WhatsMiners, with deliveries scheduled from Q4 2024 through 2025. Riot CEO Jason Les emphasized the upgrade will significantly boost efficiency, with the new miners offering 18.1 J/TH compared to the current fleet’s 24.1 J/TH. The purchase aligns with Riot’s expansion at its Corsicana, Texas facility, which is expected to reach 1 GW capacity upon completion. MicroBT COO Jordan Chen noted the partnership reflects growing institutional demand for high-performance mining equipment ahead of Bitcoin’s 2024 halving event. The deal includes options for Riot to acquire up to 66,560 additional miners, potentially increasing total hashrate capacity by over 100 EH/s.
