币界网报道:Zilliqa 2.0 has officially launched with Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatibility, marking a major upgrade for the blockchain platform. The new version introduces enhanced scalability through sharding technology while maintaining security through a hybrid consensus mechanism combining Proof-of-Work and Practical Byzantine Fault Tolerance. Developers can now deploy Ethereum-compatible smart contracts on Zilliqa using Solidity, significantly lowering the barrier for entry. The upgrade also features improved transaction speeds and reduced gas fees, with the network capable of processing over 2,500 transactions per second. Zilliqa's CEO Matt Dyer stated this evolution positions the platform as a bridge between Ethereum's developer ecosystem and high-throughput blockchain solutions. The team has allocated $5 million in grants to encourage migration of Ethereum-based projects to Zilliqa 2.0, with several DeFi protocols already committing to the transition. This strategic move aims to capitalize on Ethereum's network congestion issues while offering developers familiar tooling with better performance metrics.
