Unlike competitor Polymarket, Kalshi operates legally in the U.S., allowing users to bet on future events. Both platforms gained traction during the 2024 U.S. elections before activity slowed. Kalshi recently won a court victory allowing congressional race contracts after Paradigm filed a supporting brief. The funding news follows reports that Polymarket is nearing a $200 million raise at similar valuation. Kalshi previously secured $30 million in Series A funding (2021) and tens of millions in venture loans last year.
