币界网报道:Greek authorities have frozen crypto assets worth over $1.7 million linked to a recent Bybit hack, marking the country's first major crypto seizure related to cybercrime. The Financial Crime Unit (SDOE) collaborated with blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis to track funds stolen from Bybit's hot wallets in two separate attacks in November 2022 and December 2023. Investigators identified the stolen assets moving through multiple exchanges before being converted to privacy coins, with some funds eventually reaching Greek crypto accounts. The seizure comes as Greece tightens crypto regulations to combat money laundering, requiring exchanges to register with the Hellenic Capital Market Commission. Bybit has not publicly commented on the Greek investigation but previously acknowledged the security breaches, stating they affected less than 1% of total assets. The case highlights growing international cooperation in tracking illicit crypto flows across borders.
