币界网报道:A sophisticated $50 million scam targeting Telegram users has been exposed, where fraudsters impersonated prominent crypto investors and projects to trick victims into fake token deals. The scammers created fake profiles resembling figures like Justin Sun and projects like Solana, then lured victims into fraudulent investment schemes via private messages. Blockchain security firm SlowMist identified over 20 compromised accounts used in the operation, which involved creating counterfeit token contracts and websites. The scammers employed tactics like impersonating well-known crypto personalities, offering fake airdrops, and using social engineering to gain trust. Victims were directed to malicious websites where they unknowingly authorized transactions, draining their wallets. SlowMist warns users to verify official communication channels, scrutinize contract addresses, and avoid clicking suspicious links. The incident highlights growing security risks in crypto communities as scammers increasingly exploit social media platforms for large-scale fraud.
