币界网报道:Dark market activity on Telegram continues to thrive despite the recent $27 billion Huione Guarantee crackdown, according to blockchain analytics firm Elliptic. The report reveals that Telegram-based marketplaces, particularly those using USDT on the Tron network, remain popular for illegal transactions including drug sales, money laundering, and fraud. Elliptic identified over 70 active dark markets on Telegram, with some channels boasting more than 100,000 members. The platform's encryption and anonymity features make it an attractive hub for illicit commerce, with transactions often facilitated through automated bots. While Huione Guarantee's shutdown disrupted one major payment processor, many vendors simply migrated to alternative channels. Law enforcement faces challenges in tracking these decentralized operations, as Telegram groups frequently change names and use burner accounts. The findings highlight the persistent challenges in combating crypto-enabled darknet markets as they adapt to enforcement actions.
