币界网报道:On June 12, Thai police arrested Huang Tianwei, a Chinese man suspected of cryptocurrency fraud, at Don Mueang International Airport. The amount involved was 200 million baht (about 5 million US dollars). Huang Tianwei is the founder of the collapsed exchange AEX (formerly Bit Era). The platform closed the withdrawal function in July 2022 due to a liquidity crisis, causing 22,000 investors to lose more than 20 million US dollars. Huang Tianwei was briefly detained by Chinese police and fled to Thailand. This time he was arrested on suspicion of Bitcoin investment fraud. Eight AEX victims requested a meeting but were rejected. Experts predict that they may be extradited back to China. Huang Tianwei was a product manager at Tencent, and many companies he founded have been deregistered. The case is under further investigation.
