币界网报道:U.S. Senators Elizabeth Warren and Richard Blumenthal have demanded Meta disclose its stablecoin plans in a formal letter, citing concerns over potential privacy violations and anti-competitive practices. The lawmakers questioned whether Meta intends to launch its own stablecoin, its lobbying efforts regarding congressional stablecoin legislation, and how any new initiative would differ from its failed 2019 Libra/Diem project. The letter warns that Meta-controlled stablecoins could enable intrusive data collection for targeted advertising and surveillance pricing. This inquiry coincides with Senate deliberations on the GENIUS Act stablecoin bill, which is expected to pass without amendments with bipartisan support. Meta has not yet responded to the senators' request for clarification.
