The event, co-organized by FWB, inherited the online hackathon and offline development sprint model of the first World Build event, and had a demo day for developers to present their projects to venture capital. The World Foundation offers a mini-app funding program and back-tracking rewards, while Tools For Humanity has a $300,000 developer reward program. The World app is based on the World Network blockchain and has more than 300 mini-apps and approximately $12 million in venture capital. The app has been downloaded more than 10 million times on the Android platform, with major users coming from Indonesia, Colombia, Brazil, the Philippines, and Peru. The World Foundation recently received a $135 million investment from a16z and Bain Capital Crypto.
