Hong Kong Government: Stablecoin Ordinance will take effect on August 1, 2025

币界网报道：The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government published the Stablecoin Ordinance (Effective Date) Notice in the Gazette today, designating August 1, 2025 as the date on which the Stablecoin Ordinance (Cap. 656) (the Ordinance) will come into effect. The Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Mr. Christopher Hui, said: "After the Ordinance comes into effect, the licensing system will provide appropriate regulations for relevant stablecoin activities and will be a milestone in promoting the sustainable development of Hong Kong's stablecoin and digital asset ecosystem."
