There are two main versions: Cargo Dragon: used to transport cargo to the International Space Station (ISS); Crew Dragon: used to send astronauts to the International Space Station. Currently, NASA relies heavily on SpaceX's Crew Dragon to send astronauts to the International Space Station. If retired, NASA will temporarily lack reliable U.S. domestic manned space capabilities and can only rely on Boeing Starliner (which has just started service) or foreign space agencies. If the cargo mission is suspended, it may affect the supply and scientific experiments of the space station. Retirement will also affect the reputation and dominance of U.S. commercial aerospace.
