According to a police statement, the man has hacked into more than 5,000 customer accounts of international custodians since 2018 and used their server resources for cryptocurrency mining without authorization, causing the company to lose about $4.4 million. During the search of the suspect's residence, the police found multiple computer devices, mobile phones, bank cards, as well as crypto wallets and hacking software. The suspect is currently facing charges of unauthorized interference with the operation of an electronic information network, which carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison. The case investigation is still ongoing.
