币界网报道:Seoul has ordered Chinese e-commerce platforms Temu and AliExpress to halt sales of children's products after tests revealed hazardous substances exceeding safety limits. The Seoul Metropolitan Government conducted safety inspections on 40 children's items from these platforms, finding 16 products (40%) containing excessive levels of toxic chemicals like phthalates and lead. The banned substances, which can disrupt hormones and cause developmental issues, were found in products including toys, school supplies, and baby items. Authorities have issued sales suspension orders and requested corrective measures from the platforms. This action follows growing concerns about product safety on Chinese cross-border e-commerce sites, with South Korea intensifying scrutiny after similar findings last year. Consumers are advised to check product safety certifications before purchasing children's goods online.
